Dear Vision America Supporter,

I remember standing in Montgomery, Alabama in 2003--next to Judge Roy Moore--like it was yesterday, and I knew then that if our nation continued down its chosen path this day would come.

Now, Bradley LaShawn Fowler has filed lawsuits totaling $70 million against Thomas Nelson and Zondervan because they publish the Bible—and the Bible condemns homosexuality. The suit claims the Bible violates his constitutional rights and causes him emotional distress.

On his blog, Fowler claims that he "was completely distraught after discovering the term homosexual was added to the bible, in 1976, and then removed in 2001 and 2006, without any consideration to the many victims who committed suicide or were murdered because of their sexual preference of homosexuality." Since the first draft of this article Fowler's blog has been redesigned and his home page is now advertising a book he authored. Perhaps this is all a ploy to sell books but it is also a dangerous road that this country is on and we must stand up and take notice or suffer the consequences of our apathy.

Now I don’t know where the case will go. But we know the activist judges on our nation’s courts are extremely hostile to Christianity and have succeeded in silencing school prayers, removing Bibles, banning prayer at government events, ripping Ten Commandments out of courthouses, prosecuting street preachers and more.

Is this America? Or is it China? Or Iran? We cannot sit silent while our freedoms are under assault.

You can read more about this court case here and here.

International Anti-Defamation Laws Would Criminalize Christianity

As we watch the constant attacks on Christianity in America, it would be unwise not to pay attention to the rest of the world.  Today, dozens of Islamic nations are pressing the United Nations to adopt an anti-defamation plan that would make Christians criminals under international law.  The plan has been repeatedly submitted to the U.N. since 1999 with the most recent version being proposed in March of this year.

It specifically cites a declaration "adopted by the Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers" at a meeting in Islamabad "which condemned the growing trend of Islam phobia and systematic discrimination against adherents of Islam."  It also cites the dictates from the Organization of the Islamic Conference meeting in Dakar, "in which the Organization expressed concern at the systematically negative stereotyping of Muslims and Islam and other divine religions."

It goes on to cite a wide range of other practices that "target" Islam, but does not mention any other religions, and urges all nations to provide "adequate protection against acts of hatred, discrimination, intimidation and coercion resulting from the defamation of any religion."

The U.N. Commission on Human Rights' 53 members voted to adopt the resolution earlier this year, with opposition from the United States and the European Union.

Similar policies and laws are currently used in Islamic nations to condemn critics to death.

I am happy to tell you that the U.S. government is solidly opposed to this U.N. resolution. I encourage you to keep this issue in serious prayer, and take a moment to contact Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice here and thank her for her opposition to this resolution. I will continue to monitor the situation and let you know when further action needs to be taken. For now, pray.

England’s Senior Judge OKs Sharia Law—Is the US Next?

Now, before you tell me that this persecution of Christian’s will never happen here, you need to take a look at our closest ally in the world—England.

In a speech at an East London mosque, the English equivalent of our Supreme Court Chief Justice announced Muslims in Britain can use Islamic legal principles, or Sharia law, as long as punishments - and divorce rulings - comply with English law. How tolerant. How shortsighted.

Throughout history, Sharia law has never been subservient to another law—wherever it is introduced it becomes the supreme law and is tolerant of no other worldviews, laws or legal practices.

So now we have the head of the English legal system saying in effect, get used to it because here comes Sharia law, and you have the head of the Church of England stating the same. Are we far behind? Islam is not into peaceful coexistence, they are into taking control of countries and then introducing their way of doing things—the Sharia way.

Under the Sharia way, women become property, religious liberty is decimated, hands are cut off for theft, women are forced to be circumcised and marital abuse is widespread. And it could be coming here if we follow the same path to Islamification England, and most of Europe has already adopted.

And most impacting of all, under Sharia law if you criticize Islam you can be sentenced to death. Are you ready to put your life on the line by preaching the Gospel? I say, if I have to I will, but why should we help usher that into reality in America when we can still prevent it.

If Sharia law comes to America it will be through the courts and through our elected officials. This is another reason in the long list of reasons why we must all get out and vote in every election. Future judicial nominations are on the line every time you go to the ballot box. Future laws will be passed or defeated based upon your vote at your local polling place.

We have a voice. We have the opportunity to send our nation in a different direction than the rest of the world. We were once a shining light of righteousness for the world to see and we can be again.

Vote, and encourage everyone you know to do the same. If you need to register to vote select here.

And pray. Pray as if your life depends on it, because it does. As always, thank you for taking the time to read this email alert. Please pass it along to anyone you think may need this information. God bless you.
