  • Letter to the Editor Response to Pastor Ken Gurley

    Sep 20, 2010

    by: Rick Scarborough

I’m saddened that Pastor Ken Gurley misinterprets my message. In his posting of September 18, 2010, Pastor Gurley suggests that I’m calling on pastors to be politically active for the sake of politics – that I view preachers as just another constituency to be mobilized and activated to achieve my political goals. Nothing could be further from the truth. I am not – and let me be clear about this – calling on preachers to be involved in politics for the sake of politics – but for Jesus’ sake.

  • Palin Defeats Biden the Old Fashion Way

    Oct 03, 2008

    by: Rick Scarborough

OCTOBER 3, 20008-- Vision America Director Rick Scarborough is available for Talk Show interviews to discuss how Faith Voters are united in their view that Governor Sarah Palin clearly defeated Joe Biden in last night’s debate. The following is a statement from Rick Scarborough: “The gloves were off and the pundits stepped aside while the two Vice Presidential candidates took center stage for their only planned debate, and what a revelation Americans received. Instead of the Saturday Night Live version of Sarah Palin, what America saw was the Monday morning Sarah, an every day person who got fed up with politicians cramming money in their own pockets while spending their life getting re-elected saying whatever people want to hear, and decided to do something about it.

  • Proposed Democratic Platform is Rotten at its Core

    Aug 15, 2008

    by: Liberty Alliance Action

Lynchburg, VA – Today Mathew Staver, Chairman of Liberty Alliance Action, commented on the new proposed language in the Democratic Platform: “The proposed Democratic Platform released this week continues to laud the culture of death,” Staver said. “The proposed platform says: ‘The Democratic Party strongly and unequivocally supports Roe v. Wade and a woman's right to choose a safe and legal abortion, regardless of ability to pay, and we oppose any and all efforts to weaken or undermine that right. The Democratic Party also strongly supports access to affordable family planning services and comprehensive age-appropriate sex education which empower people to make informed choices and live healthy lives.

  • President Bush Challenges China on Persecution

    Aug 07, 2008

WASHINGTON, DC – Pastor Rick Scarborough, founder and president of Vision America, is commending President Bush for directly challenging Chinese President Hu Jintao and the Chinese government on their severe persecution of Chinese Christians. “Now he needs to address the current imprisonment of three U.S. citizens who shared their faith in Tiananmen Square in the past few days,” Pastor Scarborough said. “China has always attacked Christians in their country,” Pastor Scarborough said. “They raid house churches, jail the leaders and threaten and intimidate the church members. And now they have done the same to American Christians who were visiting China.”

  • U.S. Appeals Court Decision Acknowledges Humanity of Unborn Child

    Jul 03, 2008

Vision America Action President Dr. Rick Scarborough today hailed a decision of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit acknowledging the humanity of the unborn child. The 7-4 decision in Planned Parenthood v. Rounds upholds a South Dakota law requiring abortionists to notify women seeking an abortion in writing that “abortion will terminate the life of a whole, separate, unique, living human being.” The Court held that in order to challenge the statute, Planned Parenthood would have to prove the statement false, misleading or irrelevant.

  • Scarborough says that like Dr. Dobson, he was Appalled by Obama 2006 Speech

    Jun 25, 2008

Vision America Action President Rick Scarborough said he agreed wholeheartedly with comments Dr. James Dobson made on his syndicated radio show, “Focus On the Family,” yesterday. Dobson, whose 30-minute program is carried by more than 1,300 stations in the U.S., commented on a June 28, 2006 speech by Senator Barack Obama (“Call to Renewal”), which is available on the Internet. “Like my friend Jim Dobson, I was appalled by the Senator’s remarks,” Scarborough disclosed. “This speech showed Obama’s real views on politics and religion. And, I can tell you, the presumptive Democratic nominee is no friend of Bible-believing Christians,” Scarborough added.

  • Vision America Saddened by Russert Death

Vision America President Dr. Rick Scarborough commented: “Tim Russert had a well-deserved reputation for three things – doing his homework, asking hard-hitting questions and fairness. I don’t think a conservative can ask more than that from a member of the mainstream media.”

  • Scarborough Decries reinstatement of Rev. Pfleger

    Jun 11, 2008

Dr. Rick Scarborough, a Baptist preacher and president of Vision America Action, said he was “shocked and dismayed” by the reinstatement of Rev. Michael Pfleger as pastor of Saint Sabina Catholic Church in Chicago. “Like most Catholics and non-Catholics in America, I viewed the steps of discipline for Rev. Pfleger’s blatant assault on America as a good first step by Cardinal George. I never dreamed it would be the last step as well. Such disregard for the true and high purposes of the clergy’s role in society is why pastors are increasingly held in low regard by most Americans,” Scarborough observed.

  • Vision America Calls Certification of California Marriage Amendment "A Victory for the Family, Democracy, and Sanity"

    Jun 04, 2008

Vision America President Dr. Rick Scarborough called the certification of the California Marriage Protection Act (a constitutional amendment) for the November ballot, “a victory for the family, democracy and sanity.” On May 15, the California Supreme Court imposed same-sex marriage on the largest state in the country. Unlike Massachusetts, the other “gay marriage” state, California has no waiting period or residency requirement for marriage. Homosexual couples will flock there for a ceremony and a piece of paper, and return home to challenge state marriage laws with ensuing chaos.
